An early shot of the Hospital
without its stately trees, looking rather barren and forbidding.
Earliest known
photo of the Hospital. It shows the original farmhouse.
The eastern section of the Main Building (Perry Pavilion)
is still under construction. (circa 1890).
Listen closely and you can still hear horses’ hooves
on the circular entrance that graced the Main Building
at the turn of the century. To enter the building, you
needed a visitor’s pass, presented by a guard seated
in the building’s entranceway.
